Bluesmoke, could you tell me how you are able to treat your new purchase as a separate trade ?. With my e-trade account when I sell any it always "sells" the oldest ones first ( well as at least as far as recalculating the average cost of the remainder and as far as the year end tax statements it delivers are concerned ) . Is there a way to explicitly sell just your most recently purchased blocks of shares or is it just a logical assignment in your head or on a spreadsheet or the like ?
