    There is no such thing as a standard contract.

    If there are no safeguards for you in the contract such as completion dates it is in your right to put them in.

    Also when money is to be paid? ie you do not want to give the builder/developer all the money when there is nothing to show for it.
    Have it all paid into a trust account, not to be paid over until satisfactory completion

    You do not want to be signing an open ended contract
