Spoken like your avatar. The SP has been bleeding lower based on pessimism alone imo. We had a pretty average earnings report several months ago but it wasn't bad enough to warrant a $3.20 SP imo. We know mortgaged and renter households are both being squeezed currently. But, there is also reason for optimism - ''no storm last forever" - at some point the RBA will stop hiking and will likely reverse course. We can debate on when this is, but probably in 2024 and maybe 2025. As referenced, we also have very strong immigration levels currently, all of those people will need beds, TVs, sofas etc. I'm bullish on Australia Inc longer term. So for me, I've been averaging on the way down (and yep, I'm down on every buy). But when the tables turn, they can turn fast. Just look at Meta in the US, fell from almost $400 to around $90 to already be back over $250. Imagine if you were averaging in $110, $100 etc near the lows. That's how money is made, buying in the face of terrible sentiment and prior price action. We've got both currently. DYOR GL.
