Oh dear , my friends , i've seen this all before . Stops being such newbs....

These countries need mining , end of story. No mining = no income = less food = more riots = more unrest

It doesn't matter who gets into power in the long run , when the dust settles , the end result will be the same , mining in burkina is here to stay and will continued to be encouraged.

My point here is , that at this point , the turmoil is here , so you have two choices . 1.You can offload your shares and realise a loss or reduced profit margin....or.... 2.you can use this situation to your advantage and buy more shares. If the situation escalates, you buy more again.

Take perseus mining for example of how to play this: When the ivory coast conflict started to flare up , their sp dropped to $2.66 , simuilar % as per amx is dropping now . Many investors sold at the bottom and realised a loss or blew months worth of investing gains. At this point I was buying up at around the 2.68 mark recognising the discount . Less than a month later , i sold my holding in PRU for $3.44, even while the ivory coast conflict was still simmering .

So you see , you can sell half you investment like the above poster and run for the hills , or you can use the situation to your advantage. I guess the difference is experience.

Note; i also went through a very simular experience with Kingsgate during the whole thailand episode also. I implore you hotcopper newbs , learn from the gooches experience and seize this opportunity....
