It seems very unlikely to me that if KAR could secure a good JV with PRE for Santos before oil was discovered at Kangaroo and Bilby, that they won't be able to finalise a good JV post confirmation of the oil. We should also keep in mind that any prospective new JV party will get the benefit of the deeper elephant targets to be investigated later and I don't want KAR to give these away without negotiating the best deal possible for us. In that regard, if it takes a little longer to stitch up a good deal, I'd rather they take the time to do so rather than simply cave in to the shorters.
One thing I am curious about is who is lending the shares to the shorters and whether they are using this outcome to top up (like I have been doing and will continue to do so). I do not subscribe to the efficient markets theory.
