The most interesting thing about the announcement was that there was no mention of the return realised by MCG. My calc is theconsortium paid 1.425b, MCG got ~28% for what I estimate 408m - its being sold for 363m = a 45m loss (12%) in twelve months. And this is the price for a tame sale to an unlisted MQG fund.
The market is in no mood for asset writedowns - probably imputing the implications of this across the rest of MCG's portfolio.
