You are right, it was my decision, and I will live with the consequences of my decision. But I do believe that the government must take some responsibility - they did promote the concept but didn't regulate the industry enough and then tried to stop it.
My decision to invest in MIS was based on the advice of financial planners who were not making commissions. It was considered by many to be an environmentally friendly option to save for the future while saving on immediate tax bills.
In most of these cases there is some responsibility to be taken by the investor but also some to be taken by others - in this case, government, business, planners.
