buying silver from overseas

WARNING ABOUT BUYING PM'S OVERSEAS

yippeeee my silver America Eagles just arrived after a mammoth battle with customs over GST I finally won my battle , but I guess I lost the war as I will never buy over $1000 of silver again from an overseas supplier as customs do not understand the law with pm's and by default charge GST and they are to stuburn to reverse their decisions. After quoting the act 5 times in writing and then explaining my understanding of it 10 times they finally relented.Took a month to get out of customs.
And they kept threatening to send back to sender.
ATO was no help either most in the call centre actually thought I should pay GST , but said I could pay for a ruling from the ATO lawyers.NO THANKS
I will stick with my usual suplier ABC from now on.
