I just brought another parcel of shares. This makes ORG my largest single holding.
My reasons are as follows.
1) APLNG will deliver positive cash flows and profits for many years to come.
2) Australia needs to replace a lot of old inefficient power plants in the next 5 to 10 years. Renewable sources can not provide base load power with current technology. I belief the politicians will not go Nuclear.
That only leaves coal and gas as viable solutions for at least several years to come.
As power prices rise the political need for a solution will increase and a deal will be done in the short term and Origin will build new power generation plants over the next 3 to 5 years. Which will give shareholders strong returns from electricity generation for decades to come
