Well if the directors are gaining any benefit from this American idea to prop up the sp then I would say the directors have been ill advised. If the interest costs are low now they might not be low in 3 years time and while they might be saving on tax now by borrowing I'm not sure that it will be a great idea saving more tax by paying more interest when interest rates might rise when their main business is earning money from CSL business activities. Why take the risk with interest rates likely to rise. Seems a strange or puzzling strategy.
