buyout offer for pad coming

    Here is a riddle:

TZ was supposed to be heading into profitably at the end of this month.

Then TZ feels the need to announce the non award of a tender to a third party, and also feels the need to state profitability will now be 12 months later.

If the tender had been successful, it would have been worth less than $5m net AND as those with commercial experience will know - revenue cannot be accounted for until delivery and installation ie many months/years from now.

So HOW can the non award of this minor tender possibly have materially shifted TZs near term revenue expectations, so drastically?

Why did TZ feel the need to make this changed cashflow forecast anyway?

Why in this whole episode does it feel like TZ has given up the cloak to show more of the dagger?

Here's a possible scenario: 'Unexpected by management' and out of the blue - buyout offer for PAD to come - irrespective of irons in the fire and deals we are told are about to happen. Will look like a great deal for TZ and shareholders. Will look like a very good price perhaps even as high as 30c. Board will recommend offer. Masses of shareholders accept after years of failed TZ promises. A cash boost will sounds great to many. To others it will just look like the gravy train being topped up with gravy.

Who will be the buyer? Pitney Bowes? Aus Post?

ASK yourself: With the entire company having a market cap of about $15m, why wouldn't somebody like Pitney Bowes or Aus Post make an offer for PAD? Its cheaper for Aus Post to buy the TZ business unit whose lockers they love, than to buy the lockers themselves. Did Pitney Bowes deliberately screw up the tender by overpricing? Notice how AP has not awarded the contract elsewhere?

So when does MBs heroic rescue of shareholder value happen? Within the next 2 weeks?
