Alexa is fairly useful. The global ranking as a (somewhat delayed) 90-day moving average, and the local ranking as a faster moving average.

It was just not that interesting lately, with ASX volumes being down market-wide.
The app ranking is a good measure too.
It's a bit biased at the moment, with users switching between the old and new app.
