Lot of Shorts just before the announcement of results and believe they drove the market down.
Not sure how this works if you short-sell at say 25% less than current price on shares 'borrowed' and then buy back as it goes up, I believe you make profit provided the buyback price is less than the price of the share at the time you borrowed.
Does this make sense?
