By saying that China will be a short I mean that when their population starts consuming more than they are producing or when the west get a bit sick and tired (not too likely) of cheap goods then China will surely undergo some massive economic and social changes. It can't (I think it's actually impossible but I can't prove it) keep growing at the rate it has for the last ten years.

Maybe a United Asia (if it can unite) could step into Uncle Sam's boots?
Something tells me not in our lifetime however. (Since we'll die during the war which starts when the US gets really scared of losing its power). Also too much poverty in Asia. Can't have 50% of the pop. in poverty and be a superpower I wouldn't think.

Time will (probably) tell.
