"integrity" Twin. That is the key word and that is what doubt is being cast upon. Once upon a time I had total faith in the integrity of management. Sure, they may have got a little excited and ahead (perhaps a lot) of themselves when building expectations, but, as a speculative investor I was always prepared to wear that. [It is quite possible that M&G will never succeed in the market place, despite the best efforts of the most dedicated and skilful management team imaginable. That is the risk that any long term investor faces and must personally accept in any speculative stock]. But when the integrity of any management team comes into question then that is something that no investor deserves. For me, it is in their hands, they have created the doubt, now they must attempt to remove it. Nothing less will restore my confidence in this potentially great company.
