Just a few comments will post links later, bit behind today ( kids watching Cold Play live on you -tube, fantastic upgrade from 1.5 to 20 come-on NBN with 100mps)
[?? denotes my interpretation, basically everything here)
C-Pulse
sicker group no deaths
super responders (cure)
ejection fractions improvements substantial??
more complex therapies to come(device only being used in its most basic way)
MSB Revascor and STAR HEART TRIAL
Combining info from an article on Revascor and articles about the STAR HEART STUDY(assuming STAR is a good mirror for MSB's proposed trial??).
Appears real breakthrough is in how cells are delivered not the type of cells delivered as far as effectiveness goes ??.
Cells stay in the body for only a few days.
Mechanism by which they are effective unknown (no transdifferentiation).
ejection fractions after 5 years.
(Class 3 patients. Ejection fraction of 35% is heart failure.50% normal)
29.4 to 36.8 Stem cells
36.1 to 32.3 control
Very significant reduction in deaths
0.75% per year stem cells
3.6% per year
Significant reduction in cardiac events
20%??
Conclusion??:-
Stem Cells look like an possible effective "Band Aid" . If you want to take improvement further (a long way further) you are very much looking at C-Pulse (effectiveness in a basic format largely established already).
