"Scotland may face fracking"
I think the announcement recently from Dart has mentioned Central Belt. I am wondering are they gearing up for it???
The UK Government is set to offer oil companies drilling licences in Scotland that could lead to wide-scale fracking operations across the Central Belt.
The Department for Energy and Climate Change has confirmed that a large part of central Scotland would be offered for drilling in the next licensing round next Spring.
However, a spokesperson insisted that although the licences covered the use of hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, to extract shale gas, companies that wished to undertake such operations would need additional permits.
