Has anyone interested in the current climate change "agitation of minds" noticed the same psychology at play between the various antagonists as between different religious and non religious views ?

When faced with uncertainty, the same principle of a "God of the gaps" is employed and quickly becomes "God's Word".
For example, the hypothesis that Human generated C02 must be the cause of observed climate changes because at this stage of our limited knowledge of Earth's complex, non linear climate system, nothing else is generally accepted as a mechanism to explain these observations.
Not to mention how this has become interwined with legitimate concerns about real pollution.
The C02 greenhouse effect is observed to happen in micro climates. A mechanism for this is accepted, based on sound physical properties and observations regarding absorption and re-emission of certain wavelengths of radiation. The minute quantities of C02 compared to the main greenhouse "gas" of water vapour, as a significant climate forcing factor is explained by well known and accepted observation of other "tipping point" mechanisms in natural processes.
However any genuine scientist will accept that this is not the real world of Earth's climate and is an hypothesis NOT "The science is settled."

When models don't predict what actually happens or what happened in the past, they are tweaked by varying their limited parameters to produce a mathematical outcome that correlates. This adjusted model is then put forward as a predictor of the future. Again it fails and the cycle is repeated. It is like trying to reproduce the sound of an orchestra with a couple of tin flutes.

This hypothesis has now been published as "God's Word".
Anyone who questions it is labelled as a blasphemous non believer ... stoned or shunned by the righteous. Peer pressure reigns supreme.
Prophets of all kinds appear with apocalyptic interpretations. Children are scared out of their skins by bleak dire predictions of a future that has no future. Repent or you are doomed.

The mass of the gullible are trusting and have no capacity to find their own way.
They are shepherded by those with vested interests. As they always have been.
C02 has become Satan.

It is now a good business. Anyone with a pet obsession need only relate it to evil climate change and a grant will magically appear.
In the meantime, all the ills and real problems of our civilization are allowed to continue.

Remember, the issue is religious psychology.
I have posted this as an example to illustrate what happens in the absence of real knowledge and how the "religious" impulse in Humans must find expression ... no matter what.

The only "religious psychology" illustrated is the various logcal fallacies (***, equivocation etc etc) committed to confirm presuppositions caused by a dunning kruger effect.
