Maxwell Technologies is a public company so is subject to take over bids. The fact that Tesla had to offer the board a 55% premium on its current SP to get their support, rather than the standard 20%, says a lot.
C4V is a private company, so if someone wants to own them, they can simply say ‘sorry, not interested, we’re in it for the end game.’
The fact that C4V allowed Magnis a 10% stake speaks volumes to the working relationship and trust that they have.
