We'll see, nothing is set in stone. Taxi reforms hasn't been finalised yet, the deregulation of taxi fares will make them highly competitive - it's all up to the govt, I'm pretty sure the govt want taxi to still be around. Uber might have a seamless/faster payment solution, cabcharge still owns it in payment flexibility. Lots of Chinese use alipay, guess what? cabcharge accepts alipay.. Guess what? lots of Chinese travel to Australia.
I live smack bang in fortitude valley, every weekends - I see huge lineups for TAXI. Guess they're too inebriated to use uber, or avoiding surcharge.
