Your analogy is not the same. Blockbuster went bankrupt because people could download and/or stream movies for FREE and, even though illegal it is still popular to this day. Uber you have to COMPETE on price.
The way I see Uber is that it just another form of transport entering the market. Based on your logic, buses and trains should have destroyed Taxis a long time ago. Taxis will still be there.
