Cable Wakeboarding Stays On Track Following Bid To Be Part Of 2024 Paris Olympics

Despite growing global popularity and a significant promotional push by the IWWF over the last year cable wakeboarding has not secured a spot on the preliminary list of additional sports for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games. The announcement was made yesterday by the Paris Olympics Organising Committee (OCOG).
Of the nineteen sports that made presentations to OCOG, those who have now made the short list include sports that will be part of the Tokyo Games in 2020. These include surfing, skateboarding and sport climbing. Break Dancing was also added to the list by OCOG.
A final decision on which sports will actually make it into the 2024 Paris Olympic Games will only be made by the IOC selection committee in December 2020.
