Not sure what angle to answer this but, they will generally take the findings from the AC & then, plan an RC drill campaign with set intervals in order to target the best area/s. Once they have the confirmation they are looking for from the RC. Then, they'll likely plan DD follow up after that. DD just too expensive to waste on a hunch. They have to be sure they are in the best possible area. However, if by any chance they do find something significant in this initial MD of AC. They may decide to jump on a DD to drill a hole or 2?...
