I believe that there is an error in the Cadia hill mine comparison provided in the recent Chairmans review.
Newcrest has twp Gold mines in the Cadia Valley.
Cadia Hill produced about 325,000 ozs of gold and 29,000 tonnes of copper.
Ridgeway produced about 230,000 ozs of gold and 29,000 tonnes of copper.
The combination of the two operations is called Cadia valley by Newcrest.
These TWO mines produced $548 million EBITDA, and not just Cadia Hill alone as stated in the CDU report.
It took some 555,000 ozs of gold production and 58,000 tonnes of copper to get that total EBITDA.
CDU by comparison in early years may do 16,000 ozs of gold and 40,000 tonnes of copper.
Cadia valley has of the order 540,000 more ozs of gold per year which gives it something like $400+ million profit.
There is simply no comparison and the $548 million dollars is for two large mines and NOT just Cadia Hill.
