No time to seek this out properly s34 but to the best of my knowledge there is no economically effective way of removing Cd from soils over large areas. Also, the low concentrations involved (whilst high enough to be a potential problem from a food safety point of view) would make extraction difficult and very expensive.
Far better to stop it getting in there in the first place.
