    No, but we have a half acre block, so room for a couple of chooks. They have a nice henhouse and long run, but sometimes they also get a run in the garden...but they do make an awful mess.

    Grew up on the land and our livestock were always treated with the best of care we could provide.

    What's the point of mistreating your potential income earners anyway. Pretty stupid if you do.

    My father wouldn't have pigs, as his father before him, because they were too hard to kill (kindly). Sheep and cattle for ourselves were given the bullet. The sheep in the paddock and cattle in a "crush" so as to kill them with a single shot. Cattle can't just be shot anywhere on the face as the bullet will simply bounce off. Have to get them where you know it will be the end in one fell swoop.

    Nice to buy some acres for retirement, but you need to learn just how much livestock it will carry per acre...and all the rest.
