Shorter rosters require more people 14-7 to 8-6 generally requires 20% more people, more flights etc
Not denying people should get this, 12-13 hour days on site can be tough.
Companies offer better rosters in an effort to attract more people which in turn requires more people its a never ending merry go round.

Other costs stabilizing or reducing will certainly help cashflow.
Takes good management to pull this back too.
