I agree with much of what you are saying, and I still hold more CAI than ALK. CAI has more potential to for eg double sooner than ALK does. Difference with ALK is that its much much lower risk and making very good cashflow. And still undervalued IMHO, trading not far off levels of 3 years ago before extra SAR resources, Boda/Kaiser 15M resource, and approved Tommie expansion.

PS: I decided I would not buy anymore CAI until I know how they will resolve finance.
