I created this thread for comparing CAIs current valuation to other ASX producers on Aussie soil. This could be of some benefit to new blood thinking of buying in, and perhaps the weak hands who continue to exit. So Post your Comparisons if you feel inclined.
Regarding some peoples belief that CAI is a permanently high cost producer @ AISC 2200+ , I respectfully suggest they have misjudged the project, and forgotten the long term view. We are not doing too badly compared to most of our peers; worse than some (not by much though) , better than some.
The market has gone troppo, because in racing parlance, they think because the horse , on its first visit to the track, has not bolted out of the gate, it has a broken leg and thus needs to be put down. Whereas the horse is just spooked, and needs some time to settle down and get used to the track.
I will kick off with Pantoro Gold (PNR) I would suggest this stock is a bit of a failure given its history.
PNR is an establsihed producer near Kalgoorlie. In the last 10 years, they have only produced profit twice - a lousy +12M, and +13M. Losses all other 8 years.
PNR ASIC $2290 (CAI 2250)
PNR EV ~$140M (CAI ~$210M)
PNR produce only 20-25Koz p.a. (CAI 70Koz)
PNRs last quartly. figures.
Both stocks being punished, but CAI being punished at a much faster rate, despite producing triple the amount of gold (with upside) at a lower AISC.
Sound fair? I would rather own CAI.
Keep the abuse to 100 words or less, and spell check your flames.
