Question is why didnt the FAR sell 5, 10 or 15% with the Cairn stake to Lukoil?
FAR have now probably lost the chance to sell their stake as part of a more attractive bigger working interest.
Unless Luk are waiting to see if WPL preempt the CNE sale? But I am not sure what benefit that would have for LUK.
I suspect a lot of the WPL operatorship speculation is moot as I beloeve WPL will preempt the sale between CNE and Luk. Also it is not the end of the world for WPL if they do lose operatorship, they do still have 35% of a world class oil field.
WPL can then choose to sell down 20% in a year or two in a better oil market to who they want.
I cannot see FAR or Petrosen preempting any sale.
