By the way, do people here realize that SSM - if return on equity is normalized to 12% - returns an unbelievable 115% on its tangible assets?
I calculate 80 cents as Shareholder Equity and 8 cents as tangible assets. Anyone get different numbers? 12% of 80 cents gives 10 cents per share of earnings based on a normalized return on shareholder equity.
These numbers are amazing. Even See's Candies (one of the classic Warren Buffett investments) only earned 25% against tangible assets. If the calculation is correct, it's further evidence of how mispriced the shares are.
