Nothing like telling half the story, is there ?

Poor old deniers. I'm sure they hope the nannas that watch SKY after dark won't bother reading the details.

Seems you forgot to mention that the generators are temporary.

You may notice that they aren't building any new permanent fossil plants. Gas or coal. Just buying themselves a bit of time because they botched the planning.
A bit like Australia did a few years ago.

" The decision to install the five plants has been a result of flawed policies by decision-makers, he said. "

" The state’s Dept. of Water Resources is procuring what it called five temporary gas-fueled generators, each with generation capacity of 30 MW, to install at existing power plants. The CEC on Aug. 17 approved licenses, good for up to five years, for the generators. "

" Governor Newsom’s emergency proclamation makes it very clear that all of our energy agencies have to act immediately to achieve energy stability during this emergency as well as accelerating plans for construction, procurement and rapid deployment of new clean-energy and storage projects,” CEC commissioner Karen Douglas said at Tuesday’s meeting where the licenses for the gas-fired units were approved. "

You also forgot to mention that they will be designed to run on a hydrogen mix in the future.

" DWR says the units will have the capability of running on an up to 75% hydrogen blend in the future, depending on hydrogen availability.

"So we'll meet our current needs, and you know, we'll have the capability to utilize in future fuel blends of hydrogen as we move forward in our clean energy goals," said Ted Craddock, Deputy Director of the State Water Project with the DWR. "

Now, I wonder why California is struggling for power ? Could it have anything to do with the drought do you think. Hoover dam is so low it is struggling to generate electricity.

Hmmm. Droughts-mmcc. Is there a link there anywhere ? wink.png

Poor old deniers. They just can't take a trick it seems.
