That privatising their network, and offering 50 year contracts was the worst decision CA ever made. And unfortunately the people of CA have had to learn, and relearn that lesson over and over again. Here's hoping we don't make the same mistake here in Qld.
What you and Cory don't seem to understand is that the situation in CA is due to the state of the transmission and distribution grid, not the fuel used for generation. Thus, I'm unable to give my thoughts on "actual information" because there isn't any in that article.
