    Agree your sentiment.
    However
    SHV isnt in California which is perhaps the most densely commercialised agro center in the Western world. It would be interesting to know what the average water usage per square kilometer of farmland is over there but that would be useless any way becsuse you would have to break it down by agri sector ie how much water does a squ km of cattle producer use as compared to a squ km of almond trees?
    Point your making though is clear...California is starved of water there is plenty of qualitative and quantitative evidence to that fact. That is likely to have ongoing and deliterios impact on there supply side in turn increasing almond prices long term. So supply side down.

    Another point is that nowhere in these posts or anywhere else has there ever been any evidence that any SHV orchards are at risk of water management issues. Neither has this ever been taised by the Co itself. The only thing I have read is that they are very selective where they plant and do full risk assessments before entering land deals and establishing trees.
    I fully agree the defensive element of your post and it is something that has not been widely considered in these posts to my memory...that adds another tick to the SHV wall of achievments.
