Pounds makes a huge difference, yes you're right most small orchards/hobbie farms (200ac or less) have a less intensive farming program than well organized commercial growers and I haven't a clue what they do in USA, Select harvest I'm pretty sure have 3 meter row spacings and 3 meter tree spacings giving around 400 trees to the acre including road ways etc. Timbercorp used the same method on there olives in Boort 3 by 3. All irrelevant, but less than 6 kgs a tree in California is just crazy low imo, chances of these trees being ripped out and something more profitable going in there place? Could we see Californian supply dissappear? or do you reckon the US government is still topping them up?
