Did some research into the legislation aimed at phasing out halogen/bromine, non-eco friendly flame retardant chemicals.

Essentially, furniture industry practice revolves around the treatment with chemicals of PUR, polyurethane foam, what makes our couches soft. AJX, I believe don't have a product to treat PUR foam whereas Clariant have just developed one that is not only eco-friendly, and more effective than traditional pentaBDE, but is undetectable once bonded to the foam. It actually performs quite well i.e. reduced smoke, high bio-renewable content, etc.

In the same way we are intrinsically related to the DoD as our tech originated their, Clariant's new chemical was made by the US Environmental Protection Agency and has now got backing from the US Department of Agriculture as part of a program to switch to sustainable materials.

I think the way in for AJX would be to coat the actual material, but, I don't see furniture companies paying extra for treated PUR foam and encasing.
