eagle888 Why do we need to compensate anyone? I see this as counter productive. The Gov needs to rework the tax so everyone WILL contribute according to their means. After all the aim is to discourage 'wanton' use of Carbon producing activities. I don't see any suggestions like reducing stamp duty on vehicles based on efficiency. Maybe a credit on your energy bill if you reach a certain usage target. I'm sure some of you have more creative suggestions. Yes, Eagle, I will afford their tax no matter what level. I just object to propping up the scheme. I want to see it work on it's own merit, minus of political votes etc. On the point of affordability, would you still support it if you were middle of the road income and got squat subsidy?
