Eagle, so what's the purpose of the tax if so many are to be compensated? The purpose clearly can't be carbon reduction because the many compensated people won't bother to cut emmissions.
This carbon tax appears to be nothing more than a wealth distribution scheme as a means of getting the masses to vote labor at the next election.
I noticed Tanya Plibersek looking somewheat smug on Q&A when explaining how people may actually feel quite good about carbon tax before the next election. That only confirmed my belief this is all about the next election and very little to do with carbon reduction.
