Well my understanding is that the board formally resolves to confirm that the call is to be made on March 1, or something.
They then send out a notice in mid-march informing shareholders of the obligation to pay.
Trading stops in early april.
Several days after trading stops, they send out final notices to pay.
What this means, is that even if you get the first notice in march, you can still sell and the obligation goes to the buyer of the shares.
