Larg institutions get to execute their orders in priority because platforms indicate them, Commsec is one example, they're connected to CHIX and execute their orders but it doesn't show in transactions. Also when you want to review your order they indicate to institutions that someone is about to sell and that's why you don't normally see your transaction reducing anything from the line in buy/sell. I recommend you never chose the market value option for buy/sell and make sure you type the value you want to execute your order. The system is so corrupted, far from our imaginations. ASX doesn't do anything
