Halal certification does not need to be regulated, would be better that if any religious body wants to certify goods to be 'acceptable' in a religious sense then the certification should be done at the expense of the religion, not the other way around.
If it is that important to the affected religion then you would think they would spend the money accordingly.
In case the message is lost, the certification should be free to the producer and therefore there is no on-cost to the consumer.
