This is not what Netanyahu is trying to do.
Rescuing the hostages is at the bottom of his priority list.
This is last call, his last opportunity to accomplish what he's been trying to do all his life - a total distraction of Palestinians and annexation of their lands.

Go read Israeli and other Western independent online press - read about how many times he was the one who did not want any deal with Hamas, any deal with them would have spelled end of his plan, and end of his career - then court and lengthy jail sentence for him and his wife.

By the way, IDF is more 'a terrorist organisation' than Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis combined.
