I am unsure why you find it difficult to believe that a phone call was made on behalf of Todd or for that matter why you are being quite protective about them!!
It is plainly ridiculous to suggest that fmsunited are behind phone calls to shareholders and if you have read communications put out by fmsunited you would also understand they are in no way seeking "a commercial advantage from their approach" and are very pointed that they are in no way suggesting how anyone would vote and obviously have to use own funds for any endeavour.
I am not stating that it was actually Todd, but thinking logically the only other party who may carry on this type of call would be fms themselves who have open access to share register and is not uncommon in takeover type situations.
Certainly could well be a bit of skull duggery going on, but I think you are being a bit mischievous.
