Raising cash after releasing news on an historic VWAP calculation allows you to decide if you want to pay X to participate -you either decide to take the risk the share price will or wont fall back to the raise price ( or lower ) the problem with the Pattos special AVZ and AUZ raise is the punters have to send off their $15k cheques not knowing how much they are going to pay.
The underwriter and the Pattos 708 clients dont have to commit their cash until after the future VWAP price is known - clearly the retail punters are disadvantaged- I am on record on this forum saying AUZ share price will trade along the same path as what happened to AVZ - When i posted my opinion here AUZ was trading in the mid threes . I have said if the final VWAP is above that I will have been wrong and would come back here to admit I got it wrong
