Late this afternoon I received a call from a company I think was called Argyle Consultants. They were trying to spruik the Wah Nam takeover bid. Trying to tell me how good it was, a 15% premium to the current price etc. Said he was calling now they got to 38% and saying how a HK fund manager was going to accept the bid.

I said I was not interested in their script bid.

Seems to me Wah Nam are doing everything they can to try get people to accept. I don't think they have 50%. Push the price down to make people disillusioned. Ring them to try and get them to accept. Hope they accept or sell.

Looks like they have got the around 40% associates and not more and need to work to get the rest.
