Only half tongue in cheek, but when I wander through Myers in Melbourne one cannot help notice that until recently they were using the retail equivalent of warehouse sales with huge volumes of stuff pilled everywhere and rubbish all over the place plus hugely disinterested staff - looked like a garage sale.
If they are getting close to selling stuff of pallets maybe this is why they brought in Fletcher with no retail experience but lots with Chep.....
People want going into a store to be an enjoyable experience not putting up with bored wizzie's and otherwise unemployable characters disguised as staff lounging around avoiding the punters....no wonder the sales figures are up the spout.
I recently walked out and bought stuff elsewhere when I couldn't find anyone to take my money...fortunately DJ's was just across the road and they DO have a customer service ethic.
