Anyone pushing either barrow ,i.e. either extreme is certainly mentally deficient, and if the u.s. cannot tolerate sensible criticism , then its to be lumped with china, nth korea , burma and all those other countries with severe dictatorships.For the other side ,if the u.s. can ONLY be a source of criticism and nothing else, then i suggest trying to express yourself in many other countries and see how you like it in jail or worse.
