''Humans are fools''

fools? yes. Stupid? yes.

But, both because in reality - we're too smart.

It's our intellect and a couple of strokes of luck - like having the ability to have developed language and maybe a quirky thumb -------- that gives us the smarts to build advanced tools and technologies

if we didn't have such - we'd just be roaming about the jungle like other apes - we wouldn't have stuffed up a lot of the planet, we wouldn't have bred up into billions, we wouldn't have sailed all over the world, we wouldn't have the tech we know of now

we'd possibly have tech - to the level of hitting nuts with a rock and digging honey out from a tree with a stick - and that'd be it

we call ourselves fools and stupid - in reality because we expect more. We've been smart enough to invent written language, smart enough to create books and read them, smart enough to record history, smart enough to make docos on history of modern man and mankind

but, then dumb enough to go and repeat the same history all over again.

Why do we think we're foolish and stupid? Because we expect that because we're smart enough to have written and printed the books - that we'd be smart enough to read them and then say 'wait up!!!' before we rushed off and started a new war or bred up in millions and abused land and god knows - do what we do.

It's why, in 2024 - I believe there's just no hope for humans.

If we take one part of the species - women. Women who i think probably are the more knowing of the responsibilities of the species - women, more than men - have a care about the earth and it's future - perhaps it's because of their babies - I don't know, but in general, they give more lip service to the planet than men do -

but, then ----------- look what they do

pfffffffffffffft ------------ fast fashion and they are the biggest consumers by a country mile - not just essentials - but, they fill wardrobes, bathrooms, kitchens with all kinds of useless and superfluous crap ----------- yet they KNOW it's harming the planet

so, what hope is there when that's the smarter half of the human population.

God help us when we look at the dumber half - the blokes - who in full light of history - still toddle off at a great rate of knots to war - to kill each other - to kill people that they have no personal argument with whatsoever - and if they met the same blokes at a bbq, who they were trying to shoot or bomb on a battlefield - would indeed be mates - standing sipping a drink and telling jokes to each other

we are, if nothing else - a very very odd animal
