The global crisis shifted peoples eating habits from meat to more vegetables/grains in developing countries (India and China also). This increased the volumes of grain available that would normally go to feed meat producing animals. High supply resulted in lower prices as per economics 101.
As meat consumption increases again, grain demand will increase and the cycle continues. High grain prices means higher fertilizer prices. Higher fertilizer prices means higher Rock Phosphate prices means higher MAK SP.
