Re point 2. Alumina is produced by running high current through the ore. A power plant wiht suitable capacity will do this. The temperature to melt is off course produced from the current (the ore acts like a big resistor which of course gets warm with the current through it). So the question is can the geotherm resource generate enough Mega Watts. Perhaps someone can tell us how many megawatt is required to run a commercial aluminium plant. Then we can compare that size with what our company can generate.
